CCIFG Ski Competition Gudauri

CCIFG Ski Weekend Event Was a Big Success

27-28 February

 

On February 27-28, the CCIFG organized its first annual ski weekend. On Saturday, 27th of February, it hosted a ski competition on the slopes of Gudauri with 3 different categories: men, women and children. The competition was a big success with a total of over 40 participants competing in the giant slalom. 

 

After the competition, the guests headed to Rooms Hotel Kazbegi to prepare for the Award Ceremony, Gala Dinner and Charity Auction. Among the 110 guests at the Gala Dinner were Minister of Justice Thea Tsoulukiani, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Ketevan Bochorishvili, his excellence the French Ambassador, the head of the French Economic Mission, representatives of EBRD, World Bank, the United Nations, the President, Director and representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Georgia, the representative of Governing for Growth in Georgia, the French Institute, the Union of French Abroad, AFD and the European External Action Service. In attendance were also the CEOs and Directors of Carrefour, Sheraton, Entrée, Publicis Hepta, IC Group, Grant Thorton, PKF Georgia, Dechert, BLC, Marussia and others.

 

The evening started with the award ceremony, where the top 3 contestants of each category were awarded with prizes from our sponsors. In the women’s category, Ghislaine Mariani came in 3rd place, Pascale Peguilhan in 2nd and finally, Keti Kvarstkhava in 1st. Ketevan Bochorishvili received a 1-year subscription to the Georgian National Geographic Magazine as an honorary participant. For the men’s category, Yaroslav Kucher came in 3rd place, Olivier Madiot in 2nd and Peter Danis in 1st.

 

The Gala Dinner continued with the charity auction, whose proceeds went towards the newly-created NGO “Salve” whose mission is to provide the homeless children of Georgia with essential products like vitamins and protein-rich food. The organization was created together by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry France-Georgia Antoine Bardon and the Minister of Justice Thea Tsoulukiani. Mrs. Tsoulukiani delivered a speech to the guests about this endeavor before the start of the auction.

 

The charity auction featured 20 items donated by our generous sponsors and partners: we would like to thank Rooms hotel Kazbegi for providing vintage posters for the charity auction, National Geographic for rare photos of Georgia from their archive, the Georgian Rugby Union for a rugby ball signed by the National Team members, David Peradze for a football signed by Gianluigi Buffon and an FC Barcelona poster signed by Neymar; Baia Gallery for paintings from different Georgian artists such as Lali Lomtadze, Misha Shengelia, Nino Peradze, Lasha Ghlonti, Keti Batiashvili, Nodar Badurashvili and Nana Churghulia, and finally Sebastian Canaud for a photo of Batumi.
